PhD student position in energy storage for intelligent wireless sensors

This position is for a PhD student who will primarily be working on developing and characterizing novel materials for energy storage in supercapacitors - all constituents of the supercapacitor device are interesting to develop - electrodes, electrolyte, separator, collectors as well as the packaging solution, with attention to the particular requirements of different challenging applications (e g in vivo or at high temperature).

As a new co-worker in our group, you will work together in a team with more senior Ph D students to tackle the challenges of improving supercapacitor performance by material development and characterization. Your major responsibilities are to pursue your own doctoral studies as a constructive contribution to projects undertaken by the Micro- and Nanosystems group. You are expected to develop your own scientific concepts and communicate the results of your research verbally and in writing. The appointment offers an opportunity to qualify for further research positions within academia or industry. Included in your work is also to some extent taking part in the supervision and teaching of students.

Applications should be sent through Chalmers website (link below). Application deadline is October 30.

Postdoctoral position in Microsystem Technology

This position is for a postdoctoral researcher who will work on developing viable solutions for integrated microsystems. There is an option for the candidate to specialize towards the application of her choice, but the profile chosen needs to be intimately linked to at least one (preferably several) of the current projects in the group: supercapacitor materials (including carbon nanostructures), MEMS structures for energy harvesting (e g piezoelectric cantilevers), or micromachined metamaterial waveguides.

As a new co-worker in our group, you will work together in a team with Professors and students to tackle the research challenges we take on, and you will be expected to be a propelling force in the group. Your major responsibilities are to contribute to generating scientfic output (published in scientific journals and presented at conferences), to share responsibility for fulfilling project deliverables and to provide assistant supervision to PhD and MSc students.

Applications should be sent through Chalmers website (link below). Application deadline is October 30.
