This position is for a PhD student who will primarily be working on developing and characterizing novel materials for energy storage in supercapacitors - all constituents of the supercapacitor device are interesting to develop - electrodes, electrolyte, separator, collectors as well as the packaging solution, with attention to the particular requirements of different challenging applications (e g in vivo or at high temperature).
As a new co-worker in our group, you will work together in a team with more senior Ph D students to tackle the challenges of improving supercapacitor performance by material development and characterization. Your major responsibilities are to pursue your own doctoral studies as a constructive contribution to projects undertaken by the Micro- and Nanosystems group. You are expected to develop your own scientific concepts and communicate the results of your research verbally and in writing. The appointment offers an opportunity to qualify for further research positions within academia or industry. Included in your work is also to some extent taking part in the supervision and teaching of students.
